Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man who was wanted in a fatal stabbing.
At about 6:15 a.m. on August 2, deputies were sent to the 200 block of Adams Street regarding a man down.
Deputies said they found 28-year-old Oscar Albert Simentel, dead at the scene.
An autopsy later revealed that Simentel died from a stab wound to the chest.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives said they developed probable cause to arrest 21-year-old Anthony Padilla of Bakersfield.
On Friday at about 11:30 p.m., deputies with the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit located and arrested Padilla in the 1000 Block of South Union Avenue.
Anthony Padilla was booked at the Kern county Jail on murder charges.
