BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

Two Bakersfield residents were arrested for five counts of burglary and other related charges early Monday morning, according to officials.

On Feb. 11, at about 3:00 a.m., deputies went to a RV Peddler located at 8730 Golden State Avenue regarding a possible burglary in progress. 

Deputies with the Kern County Sheriff's Office said an M&S Security Officer saw two people exit a Ford Expedition that was parked in the dirt lot near the business. 

Officials said the suspects climbed through a hole in the chain link fence and entered the property.  Officials said they set up a perimeter around the lot.

While searching the lot, deputies said they found 20-year-old Melissa Horn was found in the Ford Expedition. 

Using two Kern County Sheriff K-9 Units, along with deputies from Metropolitan Patrol and the Rosedale Substation, a search was conducted of the property, according to officials.  Deputies said they found five recreational vehicles had been broken into. 

Deputies said they also found several pieces of stolen property inside of one of the RVs. 

Officials said 31-year-old Nathan Christopher Fletcher was found hiding in a closet in the RV that contained the stolen property.  Fletcher was arrested with the assistance of a Sheriff’s canine, said officials. 

No other suspects were found on the property. 

According to officials, Melissa Horn was arrested for five counts of burglary, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
