Details were released this morning about a possible abduction attempt that took place last month in southwest Bakersfield.

Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect who possibly tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into his car. It happened on January 15 at about 7:45 in the morning.

Police also responded to calls on January 5 and January 11. All three calls were placed in south or southwest Bakersfield and all three involved juvenile girls.

"There's been a few. We're not overly concerned. It does concern us when there are juveniles involved," said Sergeant Gary Carruesco of the Bakersfield Police Department.

In all three cases, the suspicious activity happened when the victims might have been walking to school.

"Perpetrators know that and know that these are the times that kids are out walking, sometimes alone."

The suspect left in a vehicle described as a silver 2008 to 2010 Toyota Highlander SUV with stickers visible on the rear window. Anyone with information is encouraged to call BPD at 661-637-2320.
