ARVIN, Calif. - Some Arvin residents are spending their first full day away from their homes after being evacuated Tuesday night.
The residents that did not stay with friends or family are staying at the Residence Inn Marriott and Bakersfield.
One family 23 ABC spoke to said they are looking forward to getting back into their homes
The homes near Arvin High School were evacuated Tuesday evening after a pipeline leak caused a potentially explosive situation in the neighborhood.
The leak was capped and Arvin High School was not affected.
A statement from Petro Capital Resources Production Manager Jeff Williams reads, "We continue to work hand in hand with the county to resolve the pipeline leak that occurred."
