All DMV locations shut down for computer problems

They are working on a fix

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Department of Motor Vehicles locations are experiencing computer problems that has stopped business at all of the 170 locations.

The DMV office in southwest Bakersfield, 7000 Schirra Court, and the downtown office are experiencing the problems and cannot conduct business.

A DMV representative said they do not know when the technical difficulties will be resolved.

The DMV website is experiencing technical difficulties, but officials are urging people to check online to take care of their DMV business rather than come in to the location.

Motorists can renew vehicle registration, pay fees, lookup records, order vanity plates, register to vote, renew drivers licenses online and more. Click here for the full list.
