BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man was shot several times while dropping family members off at a Central Bakersfield home Monday night.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on T Street, in between Brundage Lane and 2nd Street.

Police on scene tell 23ABC that the older Hispanic man had just driven into town to drop off his daughter and granddaughter at the location.

A short time after the two were inside the home, a vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire on the man who was still seated inside his car in front of the home.

He was taken to the hospital with at least 2 gunshot wounds to the leg and lower torso. His injures were described as non-life threatening.

No suspect information has been released at this time. 23ABC will continue to follow this story and will offer updates as they become available.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the BPD at (661) 327-7111.
