BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

The contractor for the Westside Parkway Phase 6B moved Allen Road traffic onto the newly constructed bridge on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Motorists traveling on Allen Road, between Stockdale Highway and Brimhall Road, anticipated periodic traffic delays lasting up to five minutes between 8:30 and 11 a.m. This allowed the contractor to remove concrete barriers, re-stripe the roadway, and complete other tie-in activities.

This section of Allen Road will continue to operate with one lane in each direction while the contractor finishes work on the new bridge and eastbound ramps to the Westside Parkway.

All lanes (three in each direction) will open to traffic when this work is completed in early 2013.
