BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A car crash north of Bakersfield Tuesday morning snarled traffic along Highway 65.
The accident happened at 5:46 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 65 and James Road. According to CHP officer Robert Rodriguez, there were three cars involved in the crash. One of them was reportedly on fire by the time rescue crews arrived.
Three people suffered moderate-to-major injuries, and the roadway had to be closed so a Medivac helicopter could land and take one of the victims to a local hospital.
The accident created a back-up in both directions several miles long, according to 23ABC news crews. Traffic was moving smoothly again at 7:00 a.m.
