BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - JobFest 2014 in Bakersfield was held Tuesday, and with 200 employers and 3,000 open positions, they expected a huge turnout.
A huge turnout is exactly what they got. Over 2,900 people attended the event held at the Rabobank Convention Center.
"We had a huge turnout, a great opportunity for people to come and network," said Juliana Holm from Goodwill Industries
The Kern County Department of Human Services said the turnout exceeded expectations.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this employment extravaganza couldn't come at a better time after our unemployment rate hit 13.1% in March, one of the worst in the country.
