The Civic Empowerment Coalition is a sister organization of the United Farm Works and UFW Foundation. The non-partisan coalition, which formed in August, has been busy reaching out to rural and often Spanish-speaking communities.
"Every vote counts and we have to make sure that our community understands that," said Civic Empowerment Coalition member, Araceli Artaega.
Artaega, a member of the coalition said that people should not assume that Hispanics are all part of one political party.
She keeps her political opinions to herself, and she often uses her personal experiences to encourage people to get registered to vote.
"My Mom just recently became a citizen in January...she's already registered to vote," Artaega explained.
November's election is shaping up to be historic for the Hispanic community. Google reports that after last night's debate, 'Registarse para votar,' which translates to 'register to vote,' in English hit an all-time high.
Artaega and other members of the coalition spend at least 5 days a way at community events and going door-to-door to encourage people to vote.
"Not only Latinos, every person that doesn't want to vote," Artaega said.
The voter registration deadline is October 24, 2016.
