Event held to show off skateboarding skills

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
A special event featuring skaters from all over the Central Valley showcased their talents at Provident Skate Park on Saturday.
The City of Visalia Parks & Recreation Department held a free event for all who wanted to show off their skills.
The 2nd Annual Derrick Shaw Memorial Skate Competition featured three divisions, 12 and Under, 13 to 17, and 18 and over. Safety gear was required during the competition, and was mandatory for all participants.
