ARVIN, Calif. - About 60 percent of all teen deaths in car crashes nationwide are alcohol related.
A program at Arvin High School aims to try and stop the terrifying trend of DUI crashes in the community.
'Every 15 Minutes' takes juniors and seniors through a "real life" exercise showing a DUI accident.
The scenario was set up on the school's football field and the scene is complete with first responders and student actors who recreate the tragedy. Students also take part in a mock funeral where they hear testimonials from their classmates.
The program ends with students watching the video of the exercise.
Arvin High School puts on the program every other year.
