Ex-felon arrested on gun, drug charges

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Thursday, at about 3:30 p.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Office narcotics officers served a search warrant in the 4200 block of Deborah Street. 

Officials said they found a shotgun with ammunition. 

Officials said they found 33-year-old Jessie Olmedo inside the home and discovered that he had previously been convicted of a felony which made it illegal for him to possess a firearm or ammo.

Later in the search, officials said they found one ounce of methamphetamine in the home. 

Olmedo was arrested on charges of being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, being an ex-felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, and maintaining a house for drug sales.
