BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Dachshunds dashed to the finish line at the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals at the Kern County Fair Saturday.
The hopeful hounds competed to be crowned Bakersfield's top dog, but only one went from "wiener to winner," scoring a cash prise and a trip to the Wiener National Finals in San Diego.

There were eight heats of pups vying for the $250.
"It's addicting," said Stevi Hernandez. "You get an adrenaline rush from it."
Hernandez's dogs Wien E Dog and Frank Furter raced.
