BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A fatal crash slowed traffic on the northbound 99 about a mile south of Sandrini Road this morning.
The California Highway Patrol reports the crash happened about 4:15 a.m. Monday after a pickup crashed in the center divider. Officers report one person was killed on the scene and a second person was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The man who died has been identified as 58-year-old Rafael L. Sandoval.
Officers shut down the fast lane to conduct their investigation.
