A fight at Arvin high school sent student, Jasmine Perez, to the hospital after she says she was jumped by four girls.

The girl’s boyfriend, Christopher Zuniga, says he tried to step in to defend her but the girls started punching and hitting him too.

Zuniga was initially suspended for using excessive force. The school later lifted that suspension after finding he had acted in self-defense.

The teens say the girls weren’t suspended and that they were back at school the very next day.

Both Jasmine and Christopher’s mothers think the girls should get punished.

23 ABC reached out to the district to find out why the girls weren’t suspended and they said the situation has been resolved, adding that they cannot comment on disciplinary issues regarding students.
