Fire burning at two-story apartment complex in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - 1ST UPDATE: The fire has been extinguished. Fire officials tell 23ABC four units were affected by flames. Damage is estimated at $650,000.

A two-alarm fire is burning at an apartment complex in East Bakersfield.

The fire started just before 11:45 p.m. Thursday night at a two-story complex near the intersection of Columbus Street & Eric Way.

Kern County Fire officials say flames can be seen shooting from both stories of the complex. It's unknown how many apartments are involved.

There are reports of at least one person suffering from burns. Columbus Street is closed due to fire activity.
