TEJON RANCH, Calif. - A California based electric car maker is opening one of the first supercharging locations for an electric vehicle.

Tesla Motors is marking a major milestone at Tejon Ranch by opening the supercharge station on Friday.

These supercharging stations are being strategically positioned throughout California along with Arizona and Nevada.

The stations will be able to provide a 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes.

There are locations in GIlroy, Folsom, Harris Ranch, Hawthorne and Barstow. 

The Tesla's model has a range of 265 miles. 

The ribbon cutting ceremony takes place at 11:30.
