BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Eagles are honoring troops by hosting a "Fill the Pantry" food drive on Nov. 1.
Donations will benefit the Kern County Veterans Services Department Food Pantry.
The pantry is in dire need of assistance heading into the winter months and the Bakersfield Fraternal Order of Eagles #93 is offering its parking lot for community members to come drop off canned food and hygiene products for veterans, their families and their pets.
Bakersfield #93 is also encouraging citizens to organize a parade of flags for the upcoming Veteran's Day parade.
The Bakersfield #93 has maintained a presence in the community since 1900 and currently hosts more than 1,100 Aerie and Auxiliary members.
