Former Bakersfield teacher in custody on warrant for fourth DUI

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A former Bakersfield teacher was arrested on a warrant Thursday morning for her fourth DUI charge since 2011.

Brandi Lynn Sherman, 38, was taken into custody by California Highway Patrol just after midnight. The warrant was for her fourth DUI charge in August.

Shermann resigned as a teacher at the Community Learning Center over a week ago. 

Sherman served a short stint in jail back in 2011 and was then sentenced to three years probation.

In August of last year, she was arrested for the third time, but returned to court earlier this week after failing to comply with counseling.

Shermann's bond is set at $117,500.
