Former Bakersfield teacher pled no contest to DUI charge

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A former Bakersfield teacher pled no contest to two charges relating to a DUI in August.
Brandi Lynn Sherman, 38, was arrested on a warrant Sept. 20 for her fourth DUI charge since 2011.
Sherman pled no contest to a DUI charge and a charge of driving while her license was suspended. A charge of driving under the influence with three or more prior convictions was dropped.
Sherman resigned as a teacher at the Community Learning Center over a week ago.

Sherman served a short stint in jail back in 2011 and was then sentenced to three years probation.
In August of last year, she was arrested for the third time, but returned to court earlier this week after failing to comply with counseling.
