Former NFL player, Joey Porter, of Bakersfield is in custody at the Kern County Jail.
According to reports, Porter was arrested during a traffic stop at about 10 p.m., Friday night on Etchart Road.
Officials said he was arrested on a felony count for writing a check with insufficient funds.
Porter is being held without bail.
