Family and friends say Michael Ramirez, last seen jumping into Kern River, was found dead

UPDATE (July 3, 4:00 p.m.): The Kern County Coroner has identified the man found dead in the Kern River as 27-year-old Michael Angelo Ramirez of Buena Park. The cause and manner is still pending.

UPDATE (July 2, 10:50a): Family and friends announced on their GoFundMe page that Michael Ramirez who was last seen jumping in the Kern River near Keyesville on June 22nd, has been found dead. 

The family posted on the GoFundMe page asking for privacy.

Michael Ramirez, our Brother, Son, Uncle, Best Friend, has been found. It is with great sorrow in all of our hearts that we announce Michael Ramirez has passed away, we can finally bring him home and have closure. He is now with god singing with the rest of gods angels. The Ramirez Family have no words to express the love and gratitude we feel for everyone who has supported us through this tragic time in our lives. We would like to thank each and every person who took part in the search for Michael. Every family member, every friend, every stranger. For every prayer said to give said to give us the strength, love and support to continue the search. We love everyone who has been here for us and would like to thank every donor who made it possible for us to continue our daily search. We ask for privacy in this time of mourning as we prepare funeral services for our beloved Brother Michael Ramirez. Please continue to pray for us all as we take the next step in putting our brother to rest. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you, so much from all of our hearts for your continued support and prayers.

KCSO Search and Rescue recovered dead boy from Kern River Saturday afternoon. They said it was an adult man who appeared to be "dead for quite some time."

Family and friends of Michael Ramirez continued their search Monday after Ramirez jumped into the Kern River near Keyesville on Thursday.

Ramirez, a member of the Orange County-based music group Rebellion Warfare, was with friends after they surprised him with a camping trip for his birthday, which was June 19th.

Friends told 23ABC that at least 60 people have come from as far as Las Vegas and Arizona to help in the search for Ramirez, who is also known as Dossick.

They say they are hopeful that he is still alive and will continue to search until they find him.

Search and Rescue searched the Keyesville area this morning and will continue searching this evening.
