SHAFTER, Calif. - A home fire in Shafter has displaced a family of two, the Kern County Fire Department said
On Friday August 8, 2014, at approximately 7:12 p.m., the KCFD responded to a residential fire at 737 Mayer Lane in Shafter. When fire crews arrived, the KCFD said they found the home fully involved in flames with power lines down and a gas line exposed.
KCFD special units from Bakersfield were called to assist the county firefighters.
The KCFD says the fire displaced one man and one woman, and that the Red Cross is assisting them.
No injuries were reported, but damages are estimated at around $60,000
