BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Jon Sweet is the junior varsity Assistant Coach at Garces Memorial High School.
Sweet's attorney made the 'not guilty' plea for him as he sat hunched over in his chair.
The parents of a 17-year-old female student said Sweet had a relationship with their daughter for months.
The family went to police after their daughter admitted to the relationship.
On Monday, police arrested Sweet at his home and during the arrest, investigators said they found nude pictures of the 17-year-old female student.
Bakersfield police said the teen told her parents she had sex with the assistant coach on several occasions.
Counselors are on hand at Garces to speak with any students concerned about the alleged incident.
As a term of his $72,200 bail, Sweet is not allowed to contact the victim, but is allowed to communicate with minors.
