Garces Memorial High School assistant baseball coach accused of sex with underage girl
Girl said relationship began months ago

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A Garces Memorial High School baseball coach was arrested after information was received that he was having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old student, according to officials.
On Monday, April 1, the victim said that she and the junior varsity Assistant Coach Jon Aleczander Sweet had been having a sexual relationship for nearly three months. During that relationship, they had sexual intercourse several times, officials said.
Officials with the Bakersfield Police Department said the investigation led to the arrest of 25-year-old Sweet, of Bakersfield. According to officials, Sweet was found with several nude photos of the girl.
Sweet was arrested on various charges including unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and sexual exploitation of a child.
Officials at the school said parents have been notified of this event. School counselors are available for students who would like to discuss any particular concerns this issue raises.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
