BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Garces Memorial High School was the host to hundreds of very special kids on Friday afternoon.
The School hosted its 19th annual Special People Play Day, where more than 500 special education students from Kern County were paired up with Garces students for a day full of fun.
For many of the student volunteers it is their favorite day of the school year.
"Honestly it gets me in the best mood because it's like the best day of the kids lives of the year. They love it um some of them come here every year and some of them it's their first time and even though it's only like a couple hours, they love it and they remember it," said Crimson Hochhalter a Garces senior.
The event was sponsored by Chevron Corporation and lunch was provided by Pepsi and McDonalds.
