BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Golden Empire Transit District has been notified that union employees are planning to strike on Tuesday, July 15.
GET has been negotiating a new contract with the union since January of this year, but the current contract extension will end on July 15.
If the strike happens, GET officials say they will provide curb to curb service to those customers who depend on transportation for serious medical needs, but fixed route service will be suspended.
