BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A memorial wall honoring the victims of The Global War on terror will arrive in Bakersfield Friday evening.
The 'Wall of Remembrance' is 100-feet long and six-feet high, and is engraved with more than 11,000 names.
It honors the fallen from Desert/Shield Storm, the attacks of Sept. 11, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
This is the fourth time the wall has come to Bakersfield since the wall began travelling around the country since its debut in 2011.
The wall will arrive in Kern County this evening and will go on display in front of American Legion Post 26, across from the Fox Theatre.
On Saturday, July 13, a lunch will be served at 10 a.m. and a ceremony will be held inside the hall at 5 p.m.
