Grand Fire in Kern County now 90% contained

As of May 20th at 7:00a.m., the Grand Fire in Kern County is 90% contained and has burned more than 4,346 acres.
No structures are threatened, but evacuations remain in place for Hungry Valley State Park and Piru Creek recreation area.
The road closures for Hungry Valley State Park and Gold Hill Road are scheduled to be lifted on Wednesday May 22nd, while Frazier Mountain Road will remain closed until Friday May 24th.

There are currently more than 1,000 personnel fighting the Grand Fire, which started Wednesday.
Three injuries have been reported due to the fire.
The cause of the flames is still under investigation, but fire crews expect to have it fully contained by Wednesday May 22nd.
