BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - It's something millions of Americans drink to get their daily vitamins, but thousands of Bakersfield families are going without milk.
To solve the problem, Community Action Partnership of Kern is partnering up with the Great American Milk Drive.
Donations in $5 increments will turn into vouchers that families can then take to local grocery stores, Ken White with CAPK explained.
The food bank distributes roughly 650,000 pounds of food each month to families in need, but because it is easily perishable milk is never on the menu.

The fundraiser will be going on all year but when you donate now through May 25th national dairy associations will match your generosity gallon for gallon.
