LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. - The repeated theft of saw logs in the Greenhorn Mountains has led to a woodcutting ban.

Officials said the U.S. Forest Service has introduced the ban while they investigate a string of thefts at an active timber sale.

Woodcutting will still be allowed in the Sequoia National Forest and the Giant Sequoia National Monument as long as permits are in hand, U.S. Forest Service authorities said.

For questions about cutting bans in the area, or to report wood theft , call (760) 376-3781 for Kernville incidents, and (760)379-5646 for Lake Isabella incidents.
