Ground breaking ceremony for new Kern County road project happened this morning

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A ground breaking ceremony took place this morning for Bakersfield's newest road project.
The ceremony for the State Route 178 and Morning Drive interchange project happened at 9:30 a.m.
The project will widen the 178 from two lanes to four and will connect Morning Drive from Panorama Drive to College Avenue.
Construction is set to begin this fall and will take two years to finish.
