Gubernatorial candidate Tim Donnelly stopped in Kern County Wednesday

G.O.P. assemblyman has announced run for governor

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - California's 2014 gubernatorial race took center stage in Kern County on Wednesday during a campaign stop by a Republican candidate.

State Assemblyman Tim Donnelly (R-Twin Oaks) arrived Wednesday morning on a statewide bus tour from Southern California to Northern California.

Donnelly addressed campaign supporters at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at John Romanini and Sons Farm, which is located at Wasco Way & Stockdale Highway south of Buttonwillow.

"I have traveled to the Central Valley more than a dozen times this past year," said Donnelly. "California has a jobs crisis but it's even worse here in the Central Valley, and the politicians in Sacramento are completely out of touch with constituents here."

The Tea Party conservative represents California's 33nd Assembly District in San Bernardino County, and is a former member of the Minutemen, which monitored California's border with Mexico for illegal immigrants.
