BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A new solar project was unveiled at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Bakersfield Wednesday.
An official from the hotel said they worked with California-based solar developer REC Solar to design and install the system on solar carports in the hotel's parking lot.
The hotel said the system will offset 44 percent of the hotel's electricity cost and save $8,800 per month.
An electric car charging port was also installed at the hotel.
