Hazmat cleans 120 gallons of fuel on SR-99, Olive Drive in Bakersfield

Semi truck spilled the fuel after accident

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Hazmat was busy this morning after a semi-truck spilled 120 gallons of fuel on the road.

On June 13, Hazmat crews were called out to SR-99 and Olive Drive, regarding a semi-truck that spilled 120 gallons of fuel onto the roadway.

According to the Environmental Health, the semi was heading south on SR-99, when it ran over some debris in the roadway., puncturing the fuel tank.

The driver pulled off the highway at Olive and Knudsen and hazmat crews were able to absorb the fuel in the gutter before it caused any damage.
