BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection will have it's ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday at their expanded and remodeled office.

H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection Family Resource Center has been serving the Kern County community for over 20 years.  They serve families that have children or adults with special needs.

The resource center has recently increased their space to include a large training and conference room, and remodeled two rooms--their playgroup room and toy lending library room.

Andrew Kerwin of Boy Scout Troop 47 of the Southern Sierra Council transformed one of the offices into the new toy lending library as his Eagle Scout Project.  Andrew had 16 volunteers working on the project which included raising $1,500 and 90 volunteer hours.

Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse and Wattenbarger provided discounts for the construction phase.

Mayor Harvey Hall will preside over the ceremony at noon at 3101 N. Sillect Avenue, Suite 115. The ceremony and open house, with food, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
