BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Tuesday you have the chance to create a positive chain reaction in our community while also honoring a local activist.
It's the 2nd annual Wendy Wayne Pay it Forward day at Jastro park from 11a.m. till 1p.m.
Everyone is welcome to come to the park and pick up a slip of paper with a small gesture of generosity idea like donating blood or pledging to smile at a stranger who looks like they're having a rough day.
Wayne, who lost her battle to cancer last year, dedicated more than 30 years of her life to community outreach projects.
Last year 300 slips of small acts of kindness were handed out.
The event is being organized by The Dreamcatchers, a group of students from Liberty, Centennial and Frontier High Schools who wish to creative a wave of generosity around Bakersfield.
