BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Olive Drive is back open again in both directions after an early morning high speed chase ended in a crash.
At about 5 a.m., officers with the California Highway Patrol went to the area of Olive Drive and Fruitvale regarding a possible store robbery.
According to reports, the suspect of the break in was driving a silver sedan. When officers arrived in the area, the suspect vehicle was spotted.
After attempting a traffic stop, the driver of the sedan sped away and a chase began, officials said. Officers with the CHP said the sedan reached speeds of up to about 90 MPH.
Officials said the chase ended when the driver crashed into two parked trucks.
The suspect was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Officials said he was immediately arrested.
Neighbors told 23ABC News that speeding cars are a common thing in the area.
