BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A high-speed chase in Southwest Bakersfield ended with one driver in the hospital and the other in jail.

On Feb. 18, shortly after midnight, the California Highway Patrol said officers tried to pull a driver over for speeding.

But the driver took off instead, and blew through a red light at the intersection of Harris and Ashe Roads.

Officers said he clipped another car, sending it into a block wall.

That driver was taken to a local hospital with minor-to-moderate injuries.

The getaway driver was arrested in front of his house.

Officers said drugs and alcohol were both factors in the crash.
