Home Depot volunteers give Army veteran's yard makeover

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Home Depot's associate volunteer group along with Wounded Heroes Fund worked together to transform the home of Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient Tony Casada, his wife and their 8-month-old son Saturday.

20 volunteers completed landscaping projects in the front yard, which included planting shrubs and flowers, laying a paver patio, installing a patio set and laying sod.

Casada served in Afghanistan and received a Purple Heart after saving another soldier's life.

The Home Depot volunteer group has a 30 year history of contributing to the communities where their associates live and work.
