Lockdown at Horace Mann Elementary lifted, three arrested following investigation

UPDATE (March 23, 2017 5 p.m.): According to KCSO, the suspect was showing a passerby a firearm before jumping a fence onto the Horace Mann campus.

During a search of the campus, drug paraphernalia was found but thew suspect was still missing.

The investigation led deputies to the internet casino where several subjects were detained. During a search of the business, deputies located a stolen .357 magnum revolver and drug paraphernalia. 

Christian Mendez, 28, and Raymond Medina, 26, were arrested for weapons and drug charges. Susan Reyes, 25, was arrested for an active felony warrant.

UPDATE (12:36 p.m.): The lockdown at Horace Mann Elementary has been lifted. KCSO was pursuing a suspect. The suspect got on campus which is why a Code Red lockdown was initiated.

The suspect ran through campus but did not stop there.

Horace Mann Elementary is currently on lockdown.

Officials with the Bakersfield City School District confirmed the school went on lockdown at about noon Thursday afternoon. 

District officials say Kern County Sheriff's deputies are currently at the school.

It's not known why deputies are at the school.
