BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - With winter illnesses in full swing Houchin has put out a plea for blood donations. The pool of regular blood donors giving blood has been seriously affected.
Houchin Community Blood Blank needs healthy people with A- and O+ blood to come in and donate as soon as possible. All blood types are needed, but A- and O+ have less than a two day supply on hand.

Houchin is located at 5901 Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield. Their hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
