BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An overnight house fire in South Bakersfield is under investigation by the Bakersfield Fire Department.
The BFD said that at around 12:44 a.m. on Sunday, dispatchers were called to 1024 E. Planz Road to a report of a house fire. Assisted by the Kern County Fire Department, crews got to the scene and found flames engulfing the entire home.
The home where the fire occurred was empty at the time, and BFD Arson Investigators say the fire is "suspicious" in origin. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call 1 (877) FIRE TIP.
The damages from the fire are estimated at $40,000. No other injuries were reported.
