BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Interstate 5 over the Grapevine is now closed, again.
The closure happened at 4 p.m.
You can still expect long traffic delays however as the backlog of drivers waiting to get over the pass has backed up in the valley.
The California Highway Patrol closed the major thoroughfare Thursday morning due to accumulating snow and ice and poor visibility.
California Highway Patrol began to pace traffic along the Grapevine around 4:30am Thursday morning as snow started sticking to the roadway, according to officer Robert Rodriguez.
A full closure in both directions took place at 7:30am due to icy conditions and multiple vehicle spin-outs.
If you want to avoid the traffic, a detour is still available on Highway 58 to Mojave, and south on Highway 14 through Lancaster.
