BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - With Congress back in session, activists will once again call on local GOP leader Kevin McCarthy to back immigration reform.
A coalition of business, labor, faith and immigrant leaders will hold a rally outside Kern County Republican Party Headquarters on California Avenue, starting at 11 a.m.
They'll call on McCarthy to vote on a path to citizenship in the house plan.
The House of Representatives said it will craft its own immigration bill, separate from the recently passed senate legislation.
