BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Local students will help the Boys and Girls Club of Kern County save energy and money by providing them with an energy audit.
Independence High School students will conduct an 'energy audit' at the Boys & Girls Club to search for ways the nonprofit group can save energy and money.
Students will look for energy-wasting products or usage behaviors and suggest more efficient alternatives.
The students are enrolled in the New Energy Academy at Independence High School, which is funded by grants from Pacific Gas and Electric Company and the California Department of Education.
Their day of service allows them to put their energy education into action.
