BAKERSFIELD - The Energy Academy at Independence High School in Bakersfield received a significant donation Thursday.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company presented a $10,000 check as part of the Bright Ideas Grants program.
In February, the high school Energy Academy students spent a day with Lakeside School elementary students.
With direction from their teachers and business industry mentors, the high school students will now teach hands-on energy activities that focus on wind, solar, hydropower, hydrogen fuel cell or the science of energy to Lakeside School teachers.
