BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Internet cafes in Bakersfield face an uncertain future after a ruling by a judge on Friday.
The judge ruled that the gaming portion of Internet cafes is illegal and authorities can shut them down.
23ABC spoke to a neighbor of one Internet cafe who says they are glad the cafes are being shot down. They say the cafe near them has been a source of constant problems and crime.
One Internet cafe owner we spoke to says the District Attorney told them if they closed down voluntarily and pay a $20,000 fine the DA will not prosecute.
