JobFest series offers employment opportunities

The Kern County Department of Human Services is pleased to announce it’s 2013 JobFest Series, bringing employment opportunities to every region of Kern County. With Kern County’s overall unemployment rate as of February at 13.6%, the JobFest series is just one way DHS works to improve the lives of children and families throughout Kern County.
The Lamont Tri-Area JobFest takes place Wednesday, April 17th from 9:00 A.M. - Noon at the David Head Center,10300 San Diego St. Lamont’s unemployment rate remains at 24%.
Ridgecrest JobFest takes place Friday, April 26th at SpringHill Suites Marriott, 113 East Sydor Avenue in Ridgecrest from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Ridgecrest’s unemployment rate is 7.8%
Bakersfield JobFest takes place Tuesday May 14th at the Marriott Hotel, 801 Truxtun Avenue, in Bakersfield from 9:00 A.M. – Noon. Bakersfield’s unemployment rate is currently at 9.5%
Lake Isabella JobFest takes place Wednesday, May 15th from 9:00 A.M. - Noon at the Lake Isabella Senior Center, 6405 Lake Isabella Blvd. Lake Isabella unemployment rate is currently at 16.0%
We are seeking employers with current, open positions to participate in our JobFest Series. There is no cost to participate. Contact Shanda Evett at (661) 633-7036 to receive an Employer Participation Commitment form for your local job fair.
Job Seekers should come to JobFest dressed for success with at least 20 copies of their resume or Master Application. Job leads and resume assistance is available everyday to the public in all of our DHS locations. Visit KCDHS.org for location information.
